Tot Rod - The Sequel
Maya, Photoshop
March 2007

Had an idea for a scene which re-used a model of a kid's pedal car that I built last year. I wanted the scene to have a more illustrative feel to it, rather than be photorealistic; and to have an emotive quality. I was trying to get the feel of a hot, hazy summer day outside, yet cool and dark in the garage. And to tell the story of a young motorhead who has advanced beyond his original crude and unskilled attempts at building a ride.

This image was built as a scene in Maya; I then did 34 renders (15 of which were simply to get an alpha channel that I could use as a knock-out mask in Photoshop) which were composited in Photoshop.
